. Anger is a natural reaction which comes out when we feel that we have not been given a fair treatment. The positive(積極的) side of this negative(消極的) emotion is that it has helped us to evolve(進化,演變) as humans and cope(應(yīng)對) in a better manner with our surroundings. However, it tends to become a problem when we fail to control it. Many a time it happens that your anger has hurt others or has spoiled(寵壞) one of your relationships for which you regret later. It has some bad effects on the health, too.

We should control anger so that it does not cause harm to us or to those around us whom we love. One of the best ways to control anger is to get help from others. If you feel that you are unable to manage your anger, it can make you more upset. So tell someone that is close to you, a friend or a family member, about your problem. When you discuss a matter with others, there is a better chance of finding a solution to your problem. Besides, there are no better stress relievers than humor. When you feel that it is because of stress that your anger is becoming unmanageable, you can use humor. It can help you look at difficult things in a lighter way and you will feel better about the things around you.

Anger tends to make us have a lot of negative thoughts. Therefore, we have to change the negative thoughts into positive ones. For this you have to first refuse all the negative thoughts that are in your mind one by one. This can be done with a lot of practice. Once you are successful in that, you have to maintain your focus only on the positive things of life.

Meditation (冥想) is an excellent anger management technique. In addition, what we do is disconnect(使分離) ourselves from the outer world and focus all our attention into the inner world. This helps us develop a sense of controlling our thoughts that tend to cause anger.

It is an all too familiar story. A natural disaster strikes in a remote part of the world, causing destruction and suffering. Villages are flattened and people are forced into camps. It is now happening in China, after the earthquake of magnitude(里氏)8 that was centered on Wenchuan but shook the entire country.

Actually, in the past centuries, there were hundreds of thousands of earthquakes in different parts of the world. In Sept. 1923, Tokyo and Yokohama were both destroyed by an earthquake and the fires that followed it. They had to be completely rebuilt. One of the most serious earthquakes was in China’s Shanxi Province in 1556. It claimed almost one million people.

We measure an earthquake’s strength on the Richter scale. The Richter scale was introduced in 1935 in Southern California in the USA. It measures earthquakes on a scale of one to ten. Any earthquake measuring five or more is usually serious.

The earth’s crust (地殼) is made up of layers of rock called plates. As these plates move, they sometimes crash against each other, causing the crust to quake. In cities such as Tokyo, where small quakes happen quite often, many modern buildings are designed to be flexible so when the earth moves, they move with it.

Earthquakes can also break up gas or oil pipes. This can cause fires to break out, which can do as much damage as the earthquake itself.

Another effect of the earthquakes is tsunamis (海嘯). These are huge waves created by earthquakes beneath the sea. They can be many meters high and cause great damage to costal towns and cities.

China, Japan, Russia and the USA have the highest occurrence of earthquakes in the world.

Maybe you are an average student. You probably think you will never be a top student. This is not necessary so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here is how.

1). Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you can have to do. After making the list, you should make a schedule of your time. First time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. Don’t forget to set aside enough time fro entertainment. A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.

2). Find a good place to study. Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a corner of your room. Free from everything but study materials. No games, radios, or television. When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.

3). Make good use of your time in class. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teachers say. Really listening in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what your teachers say.

4). Study regularly. When you get home from school, go over your notes. Review the important points that your teachers mentioned in class. If you want to know what your teacher is going to discuss the next day, read the material in advance. This will help you understand the next class. If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you will remember it longer.

5). Develop a good attitude about tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. The world won’t end if you don’t pass a test, so don’t be overly worried.

There are other methods that might help you with your studying. You will probably discover many others after you have tried these.

BEIJING, Dec.21, 2012--Hundreds of college graduates yesterday attended interviews to be volunteer teachers of Chinese in Thailand, the Philippines and other Asian countries.

As many as 380 people turned out at the Minzu University of China for the recruitment(招募) drive organized by the Beijing Center of the Promotion of Chinese Overseas.

Recruiters(招聘人員)say they’ll pick 300 people from Beijing to teach Chinese in neighboring countries, to meet the ever-increasing demand for Chinese teachers in foreign countries. An official with the Beijing International Center for Chinese Language, said those who passed the interview would go through a five-month training period. Successful candidates would then become volunteers and teach Chinese to primary and middle school students in Thailand, Philippines and other neighboring countries. Each volunteer would receive $800 in subsidies(津貼), with accommodation and medical insurance covered by the school. Volunteers who perform well will be recommended to continue their graduate studies of teaching Chinese at universities when they return.

The official added that the basic requirement for candidates is that they have to have a bachelor’s degree, pass a Chinese-level test and a College English Band Four Exam. Candidates were tested on Chinese grammar, pronunciation, blackboard writing and English. Those with skills such as singing Chinese songs or dancing were preferred, she said.

Unlike modern animal scientists , dinosaur (恐龍) scientist cannot sit on a hillside and use telescope to watch dinosaurs in order to know how they lived and whether they were good parents .   71   .

It’s very difficult for the scientists to reach an agreement because different results can be got from the same fossils(化石) .   72    . They might have formed when an entire group of dinosaurs got stuck all at once, or they might have been the result of dinosaurs getting stuck one after another over a course of a few centuries . Thus we can say that dinosaurs might have in the first case lived in big groups and in the second lived alone .

73    .  A kind of dinosaurs called Sauropods left behind tracks in the western United States that appear to run north and south , suggesting that they even moved long distances together .

As to whether dinosaurs cared for their young , dinosaur scientists have turned to the closest living relatives of dinosaurs —birds and crocodiles — for possible models .     74   .  The discovered fossils of dinosaurs sitting on their eggs and staying with their young suggest the parents were taking care of their babies , but we still cannot say that all dinosaurs did the same .

75    .  Dinosaur scientists will have to find more proof to reach an agreement .

A.There is still a long way to go before the above questions could be answered .

B.Though there are two different results , dinosaur scientists now generally agree that at least some kinds

of dinosaurs lived in big groups .

C.Birds give a lot of care to their young , while crocodiles just help their young to the water .

D.Many fossils of the same kind of dinosaurs have been dug out from one place .

E. Half of the dinosaurs lived alone .

F. Birds hardly pay attentions to their young .

G. Instead , they have to search hard for information from dinosaur’s fossils .
