Dear Editor,

I’m Li Hua, a middle school student. I hear that our city government wants to build a power station near Mt. Qipan，an attraction of Shenyang City, aiming to provide more energy and promote our local economy. However, I’m against the plan, and my reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, to build the power station, many people will have to move from their homes and a great number of trees must be cut down, which will certainly disturb the peaceful life of the local residents and harm the environment as well. Worse still, once the scenery of Mt. Qipan is destroyed, it can never be restored.

In my humble view, this plan leaves much to be desired and can’t benefit people in the long run. Therefore, I strongly advocate that the government have a second thought about this plan.
