Weekend at last! Something you’re looking forward to after a tiring week at work.

Here are several tips on how to make the most of your weekends.

Spend time with loved ones. Reconnect with family members or friends you neglected (疏忽) lately. Don’t do it out of guilt or because you have to. Do it because you want to. Reach out to them to see how they are doing. 1. Return their calls if you were busy when they last tried to reach you. Talk to them. Listen to them. Be there for them.

2. Stay away from TV, iPad, iPhone and any other electronic devices. Unplug! Your brain needs to clear up from all the stress you’ve put on yourself during the week. Why not read a book instead? A paper one. Seriously, when was the last time you did that?

Laugh, laugh and laugh again. You can never have enough of it. Laugh is the best medicine ever. 3. For example, it helps you manage stress, strengthens your immune system and you are 40 percent less likely to suffer a heart attack.

Express appreciation. 4. Be grateful for your family, friends, health, the food you put on the table, the clothes you wear and the air that you breathe.

There you are. Doing a few things during weekends will have a positive long-term effect on your life. 5.

A. Apply the “no technology” rule.

B. Pause and pay attention to your thoughts.

C. Friendship is the best source of happiness.

D. Don’t Call them only when you need them.

E. It benefits your mental and physical health in so many ways.

F. Put them into practice and you'll beat the Monday Blues.

G. This is something you should be doing every day, not only on weekends.

Sunny 31st ,July

It was sunny today and I was in a good mood. Tired of studying or the noise of city life, I come to the ecology park to enjoy scenery and get relaxing in the afternoon.

While I arrived at the park, what came into its sight were the thick green trees. The air was fresh. In addition, I could clearly see a path around the pond. Lying on the grasses decorated with various flowers, I felt with ease because all that I wanted was peace inside.

Therefore, with time going by quickly, the sun was setting in the west. So I had to return back home. I would never forget such romantic experience, which was really beyond description.

科目:高中英語(yǔ) 來(lái)源:2016屆福建省泉州市畢業(yè)班3月質(zhì)量檢查英語(yǔ)試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解

A tailgate party is a social event held on and around the open tailgate of a vehicle. Tailgating, which originated in the United States, often involves consuming alcoholic drinks and frilling food. Tailgate parties usually occur in the parking lots at stadiums, before and occasionally after games and concerts. People attending such a party are said to be tailgating. Many people participate even if their vehicles do not have tailgates.

The idea for eating out of the back of a car may have started in 1866 with Charles Goodnight, a Texas farmer. He noticed that the cowboys he employed needed a way to eat on the road, so he transformed a U. S. Army wagon(馬車(chē)) into a mobile kitchen. There, hungry workers could eat, relax, and socialize after a long day of working.

Nowadays, people tailgate for lots of reasons, everything from college football games to Jimmy Buffet concerts. In schools and communities, some athletic departments, coaches and parents of student athletes rely on post-game tailgating parties to build community and support for their program and team.

What people consider essentials(必備)for tailgating spreads isn’t the same across the country. Different areas of the country have their own favorite foods for tailgating. While foods like burgers and chips may be common everywhere, some areas have specialties. For instance, those in Louisiana may consider jambalaya a tailgating must, while those in the Midwest simply can’t go without brats. And the West Coast? Don’t be surprised to see grilled fish or pasta. While dishes may differ from area to area, one thing is the same across the country: beer.

1.Why did Charles Goodnight invent a mobile kitchen?

A. To show off his cooking skills

B. To build a canteen

C. To celebrate the army’s victory

D. To attract more cowboys

2.What can we learn about tailgate parties?

A. They are usually held before concerts

B. They are mainly held for cowboys

C. They are also occasions to make friends

D. They are meant for football teams

3.What do people think a must for all tailgate parties?

A. Beer B. Sports

C. Music D. Vehicles with tailgates

4.What is the last paragraph mainly about?

A. The spread of tailgating

B. The popularity of jambalaya

C. Favorite foods on tailgate parties

D. Necessary equipment for tailgating
