There was once a lonely girl who longed so much for love. One day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving songbirds. She took them home and put them in a small cage, caring them with love. Luckily, the birds grew strong little by little. Every morning they greeted her with a wonderful song. But that doesn’t mean you deserve it. To be clear, that is a privilege we happily extend (給予) to you—not a right you are born with. And you will have to work hard to earn that privilege. Growing up is hard work.

If I do my job properly as your mother—and you do yours as my children—you would sooner get a job or two, and find a way to make your dreams come true than go to trial over what you think you have the right to.
