Waste can be seen everywhere in the school. Some students ask for more food than they can eat and others often forget to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom. They say they can afford these things. But I don’t agree with them.

Waste can bring a lot of problems. Although China is rich in some resources, we are short of others, for example, fresh water. It is reported that we will have no coal or oil to use in 100 years. So if we go on wasting our resources, what can we use in the future and where can we move? Think about it. I think we should say no to the students who waste things every day. Everybody should stop wasting as soon as possible.

In our everyday life, we can do many things to prevent waste from happening, for example, turn off the water taps when we finish washing, turn off the lights when we leave the classroom, try not to order more food than we need, and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed. Waste can be stopped one day, if we do our best.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,回答問(wèn)題。

1.Why do some students ask for more food than they can eat?

2. What can waste bring?

3. How soon will we have no coal or oil to use?

4. How many examples are mentioned in the third paragraph?

Once upon a time, there were two doors in a house. One was a beautiful living room door, and the other was just a normal bathroom door.

There were some naughty children in the house, and they always kicked(踢) the door. The living room door was always very angry about it and hated the children. 科目:初中英語(yǔ) 來(lái)源:2015-2016學(xué)年江蘇江陰青陽(yáng)片七年級(jí)5月考英語(yǔ)試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解

“How are you?” is a nice question. It’s a friendly way that people in the U.S.A greet each other. But “How are you?” is also a very unusual question. It’s a question that often doesn’t need an answer. The person who asks “How are you?” hopes to hear the answer “Fine”, even if the person’s friend isn’t fine. The reason is that “How are you?” isn’t really a question and “Fine” isn’t really an answer. They are simply other ways of saying “Hello” or “Hi”.

Sometimes, people also don’t say exactly what they mean. For example, when someone asks “Do you agree?”, the other person might think, “No, I disagree. I think you’re Wrong...” But it isn’t very polite to disagree so strongly, so the other person might say “I’m not sure.” It’s a nicer way to say that you don’t agree with someone.

People also don’t say exactly what they are thinking when they finish talking with other people. For example, many talks over the phone finish when one person say “I’ve to go now.” Often, the person who wants to hang up gives an excuse(藉口): “Someone’s at the door.” “Something is burning on the stove.” The excuses might be real, or not. Perhaps the person who wants to hang up simply doesn’t want to talk any more, but it isn’t polite to say that. The excuse is more polite, and it doesn’t hurt the other person.

Whether they are greeting each other, talking about an idea, or finishing a talk, people don’t say exactly that they are thinking. It’s an important way that people try to be nice to each other, and it’s part of the game of language.

1.When a person in America asks “How are you?” he or she wants to hear “

A. How are you? B. Hello. C.I don’t know. D. Fine.

2.When a person disagrees with someone, it is polite to say“ .”

A. You are wrong. I disagree

B. I’m not sure

C. I’m sure I disagree

D. No, I disagree

3.A polite way to finish talk is to say“ .”

A. You have to go now

B. I want to hang up

C. I have to go now

D. I don’t want to talk any more

4.When a person says “I’ve to go now. Someone’s at the door.” the person may be________.

A. giving an excuse

B. hurting someone’s feeling

C. ill

D. asking you a question

5.The rule of the game of language is probably .

A. Always say what you mean

B. Don’t disagree with people

C. Never say exactly what you’re thinking

D. Be polite

Early rising is helpful in more than one way. First, it helps us to have good health. We all need fresh air. It makes our health better to take morning exercises. The air is never so fresh as early in the morning. Early rising helps us in our studies. In the morning we learn more quickly and find it easy to learn something by heart. Early rising makes people be able to plan the work for the day. We can’t work well without a good plan. Just as the plan for the year should be made in the spring, the plan for a day should be made in the morning. Early rising gives us enough time to get ready for our work, such as to wash our hands and eat our breakfast. So the popular saying says,“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,判斷下列句子的正(T)誤(F)。
