   Today we tell about Louisa May Alcott. She wrote one of America’s best loved children’s books.

In 1868,an American publisher asked Louisa May Alcott to write a book for girls. At first,she was not sure if she wanted to do it. She said she didn’t like girls.

However,she decided to write the book finally. She told about her experiences growing up in the northeast of the United States. The book was quite interesting. Little Women became one of the most popular children’s books in American literature.  It was published in more than 50 languages.

  In 1993 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney. He had an unusual voice and he wanted to work in Disney’s cartoon film for children. When Walt Disney heard Nash’s voice,he said “Stop!That’s our duck!”

The duck was the now-famous Donald Duck,who first appeared in 1934 in the firm The Wise Little Hen. Donald lived in an old houseboat (水上住家)and wore his sailor jacket and hat. Later that year he became a star after an eight-minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and t greedy (貪婆的),and because he lost his temper (發(fā)脾氣)very quickly.
